Stardust tells the tale of Tristan’s search for a fallen star in order to win the hand of Victoria and is based on the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name. It stars a plethora of names from both sides of the Atlantic including Robert De Niro, Michell Pfeiffer, Peter O’Toole, Ian McKellan, Ricky Gervais and Claire Danes.

I recently got to see the trailer in the cinema for the first time (it’s out this summer) and it looks pretty damn good, check it out here.

Of course if you really want to get the proper experience you should read the book first, you can buy it here

There’s a lot of fantasy hitting the silver screen this year with Harry Potter (which will be cut to ribbons as the book is way too long for a single movie), Pullman’s “His Dark Materials” (again likely to undergo significant changes due to the content and the current climate in the US) and Stardust.

I’m not the most objective person on this, although I rate all three authors, but if you only manage to see one let it be Stardust.
