The cycle in this morning went reasonably well despite a rather amusing tour of Southwark courtesy of my lack of direction. I guess it shows you’ve not cycled in a while when you get lost on a route that should essentially be a straight line.
Still, I managed to navigate my way out of Southwark (an area I know not at all) and still in to work at a comparable time to getting the train. Southeastern you officially suck.
It was really nice of the Met to clear Embankment and Tower Bridge for my approach although I feel, on reflection, the fire arms were a bit much. I mean no one gets that excited to see me.
For the easily amused, my legs currently feel like rubber and I could quite comfortably go to sleep right now. It’s going to be an interesting journey home. 90 minutes is the time to beat.
Top marks – the first time I cycled to work I had legs like margarine and a huge sense of accomplishment… four years later, I wouldn’t be without it!
I don;t know how far you’re going (mine’s about 13 miles) but it gets easier – just watch those effing 18 meter buses. They’re EVIL!!
It’s about the same – 13 miles (ish) each way. Only South East.
