It’s been a while since I did one of these.
The flurry of Doing Stuff (Eastercon, family visits, work) has left me in a bit of a funk. I’d planned several decent lengthed writing sessions, all of which got hijacked, and so I find myself a bit behind where I want to be. This is part of the course with any long project but I believe I’ve caught it in enough time to still press on for my deadline for the second draft of Forever (end of this month). I will need to press on at a fair pace as I need to finish the structural part of the draft in the next week to give time for the line editing. I’m about half way.
In other writing plans, I am starting to lay down notes for my next novel length project that will be a shorter project (100k) and science fiction (mainly). There’s a short story nibbling at my ears as well and that will need dealing with at some point. However, before I go much further with any of those extra things I really need to get my submission list sorted out and poked to ensure everything is moving. I have been extremely lax on this front. To that end I will be instituting a regular sales and marketing session into my writing schedule. These things don’t publish themselves!
I’ll let you know how I go.
Stick with it and you’ll get there. I am trying to put myself under less pressure.
Thanks Gareth, hope things are good with you.
