I am possibly the world’s most inept wallpaper stripper. The early part of the weekend just gone saw me dangling from a ladder, wallpaper steamer in one hand, scraper in my teeth.
Some how I managed to get wall paper stuck to my forehead as a kind lady in the supermarket pointed out a few hours later. I also managed to get it stuck to the floorboards, bed and window.
I’ve been stripping back the wallpaper in the rear bedroom in preparation for the wall to be replastered as we’ve discovered that the plaster in that room has blown as well. We are at long last, and due to a lot of help from friends and family, on our way with the renovation. The plumber starts next week with the central heating, from there it’s a heady sprint to finish the bathroom and then the kitchen.
No doubt I will manage to nail myself to the wall or some other such thing. I am, I’m coming to realise, more of a planner than a do’er.
G is not buying that argument…
hahha.
I stripped the freaky teddy bear BORDER from our office about a year a go . . .it took me a weekend to strip just the BORDER!!! Yes, 2 days!!!
I have no idea to this day what the previous owners had used to stick the it up there with! It certainly wasn’t wallpaper paste!!!!
Yeah I’m convinced some people just cement it on.
