Tomorrow I am running in the Barry Island 10k.

This is the second 10K of the year after my dismal (but enjoyable) Cardiff Bay 10k in April where my feet were held together with tape and I was out of shape. My aim is to beat that time (1hr 18m) and I will be delighted with a 2018 personal best (anything less than 1hr 15m). This is a stepping stone to the Swansea Bay 10k in September in which I hope to equal or beat my overall personal best for the 10k (1hr).

Why am I doing this?

Well, in October I am going back to the ‘diff for my third Cardiff Half and this time I am hoping to beat my 2013 time. This means I need to be fit (I’m much closer to 40 now than I was then). I have a lot of work to do.

As with my previous runs, this is in memory of my son, and for SANDS. You can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/neil-beynon2

I’m about £90 off my end of August target which will unlock the recording of DragonStar. This story has only been performed in public twice and only a very limited number of people have hardback copies of the illustrated version.

If you can afford a few coins that would be great.

PS – You may have noticed I have pulled my finger out and started a newsletter opt-in. There will soon be a free bit of fiction for everyone who signs up. This is just an easy way to know when I have stories coming out, what I’m up to and get occasional story freebies.
